Is Console Garage legit? Real reviews of buying and selling

The most common question about Console Garage on Reddit isn't "is it cheap". It's "is this legit?" The website is plain, orders get confirmed over WhatsApp, and sometimes nobody replies for a while. If you're used to big e-commerce sites, that can feel off.

Here's what the public record, around fifty Reddit threads and our own price data say. Console Garage has no account on X that I could find, and no posts there about buying or selling with it that I could verify.

Yes:

• A physical store. Its contact page lists a shop in Akash Tower, Judges Bungalow Road, Bodakdev, Ahmedabad, open 9 am to 10 pm Monday to Saturday and 10 am to 6 pm on Sunday. Reddit users describe visiting it.
• A sole owner. Its terms name a single owner rather than a company, and Reddit users describe it as a one-person operation. That explains a lot about the service.
• Years of trading. Its own listing elsewhere says it has been in the games business since 2012 or 2013. Some Reddit users say they've known the owner since 2015.

On our prices, it's a serious store. On 3 October 2026 it had 101 used PS5 discs in stock, the most of any store we tracked that day, and was buying back 227 PS5 titles.

Buying from Console Garage: what people say

The pattern among buyers:

• Discs arrive, and they're genuine. Buyers report well-packed parcels by Blue Dart, often within two to four days of dispatch.
• Orders run through WhatsApp. After you order on the website, the shop usually confirms by WhatsApp. Some buyers find that unsettling at first.
• Replies can be slow. The most repeated advice is to phone rather than message.
• Cash on delivery. Buyers say COD is often the default at checkout, and some say the store then offered a lower price for paying upfront.

Selling to Console Garage: what people say

There are far fewer posts from sellers than from buyers.

What sellers describe:

• The price is a starting point. Each game page shows a "BUYBACK (SELL)" price, but sellers say the site isn't always updated and that you should confirm the day's price by phone or WhatsApp.
• The shop books the courier. Sellers describe the owner arranging a Blue Dart or Delhivery pickup and sending the label over WhatsApp.
• Paid by UPI after checking. Two sellers report being paid three to five days after their disc arrived.
• Cash only. There's no store-credit option.
• Pickups can fall through. One seller reports a pickup cancelled at the door, a week of silence, and then a ₹300 lower buy-back price for the game. Another reply says the same cancellation happened to them twice.

Console Garage doesn't publish its condition rules, a payout time or what happens to a rejected disc. Ask all three when you confirm the price.

How to deal with Console Garage

1. Phone, don't just message. The owner answers calls more reliably than WhatsApp, by most accounts.
2. Confirm prices on the day. Both the selling price and the buy-back price on the website can be out of date.
3. Ask the questions it doesn't publish. For selling: condition rules, when you'll be paid, and what happens if your disc is rejected.
4. Document what you send. Photograph the disc and film the packing, as you would for any store.
5. Double-check your cart. Make sure you haven't added the buy-back option when you meant to buy.

My take

Console Garage is legit. Everything I could find points to a genuine, long-running shop that delivers what you pay for.

What it isn't is polished. If you want fixed rules, instant replies and a payout clock, GameNation or Dacby will feel more comfortable. If you're happy to make a phone call, Console Garage often has the disc nobody else stocks, and pays the most for the newest games.
