Is Dacby legit? Real reviews of buying and selling

Dacby is a real, funded company, and on most discs it pays more than anyone. It also turned down my own disc in a way I don't think was fair. Here's the full picture.

Dacby is the store I'd most like to recommend for selling PS5 discs. On the prices we read every morning, it pays more cash than any of the other three stores on most games, it collects from your door, and in some places it pays you on the spot.

It's also the store that rejected my own disc in September 2026, in a way I still think was unfair. So this guide covers both: what the public record and other people's posts say, and what happened to me.

Is Dacby a real company?

Yes:

  • A registered private company. Its terms name DACBY Technologies Private Limited, with an office in Sector 45, Noida, and a registered address in Kanpur.
  • Founded and funded. Its founder, Ayush Chauhan, tells the company's story on its About page. Startup databases record an early funding round, and Dacby appeared on Shark Tank India season 4, where it didn't get a deal.
  • An app with a real rating. Its iPhone app had about 4.1 out of 5 from around 300 ratings when checked on 4 October 2026.
  • A careful note on reviews. Trustpilot doesn't show a rating for Dacby at all, saying it breached Trustpilot's guidelines and that fake reviews were removed. I'd read its 5-star reviews there with that in mind.

On our 3 October prices, Dacby made the top cash offer on about 185 of the 295 PS5 discs that two or more stores buy. Nobody else came close. That's the reason it's worth understanding properly.

Buying from Dacby: what people say

Buying is the quieter side. Most posts about Dacby, on Reddit and on X, are about selling. These are the buying posts I found most useful, good and bad.

GTA6 Ultimate Edition Physical version for pre-order on Dacby

Asked about a 'physical' GTA 6 Ultimate pre-order on Dacby, most replies say no physical Ultimate exists and call the listing misleading. A few say they've bought and sold with Dacby without trouble.

"Paid ₹28,000 for a QC-verified Xbox Series S"

A buyer says his Xbox Series S arrived with corroded battery terminals and a faulty controller, and his return request went unanswered.

The store replied: Dacby replied two days later that a replacement controller had been booked.

A post about Dacby's prices, packaging and delivery

An app user, writing in Hinglish, likes Dacby's lower game prices and its packaging, and asks it to speed up delivery.

The store replied: Dacby thanked him and said it is working with its courier partners on delivery times.

What to know before you order a disc:

  • Discs come with no warranty. Dacby's refund page lists discs among products without warranty.
  • Short window for problems. A faulty disc can be replaced or refunded only if you report it within 24 hours of delivery, according to the product page, or 2 days, according to the refund page.
  • No change of mind. Once it's delivered and working, it's yours.
  • Small PS5 shelf. On 3 October, Dacby had 24 used PS5 discs in stock, against 64 at GameLoot. When both had the same disc, GameLoot was cheaper 7 times out of 10.

Selling to Dacby: what people say

This is where most of the posts are, and they're mixed. I've included Dacby's public replies where it made one.

Sold my PlayStation CDs

A seller says Dacby quoted ₹5,800 for three games, against ₹4,000 at GameNation and ₹4,300 at GameLoot. He posted when ordering, so the payout wasn't confirmed yet.

Dacby is not paying me

A seller of three games says Dacby only answered after repeated emails, then paid for two the same day and rejected the third. A week later he got that disc back and said he'd been rejected, not scammed.

DACBY is a big scam. Avoid at all costs.

A seller says a Miles Morales disc he calls pristine, filmed while packing, was rejected for heavy scratches after days of silence. Months later he said it came back as he sent it, with no reason ever given.

The store replied: Six weeks later, Dacby apologised for the delay, said discs with more than three scratches can't be resold, and that rejected items are returned.

Dacby Is a Scam - They Lost 5 of My Game Discs and Lied About It

A seller says he sent eight discs for credit and Dacby recorded three. Commenters are split between sympathy and pointing out he shipped without a packing video.

The store replied: Dacby said its warehouse received three discs, and that a packing video is the only proof of what was sent.

I thought Ps5 disc version will save me money

A buyer paid about ₹5,000 for Resident Evil Requiem at Dacby and was offered ₹2,000 to sell it back a week later. Commenters say other stores were quoting far more for the same game.

The store replied: Dacby replied that it had raised its buy-back price for the game.

"I am sure there is no scratch on disc"

A seller says his disc was rejected for an unrealistic reason. Two days later he says it has no scratches visible to the eye and plays smoothly.

The store replied: Dacby said its quality check found multiple scratches, and later that physical condition matters for resale even when a disc plays.

"My ₹15,500 payout is still pending."

A seller says his payout was stuck because the parcel's tracking hadn't moved in five days.

The store replied: Dacby said the parcel was out for delivery, and that it pays within 48 to 72 working hours of its quality check.

The pattern:

  • The praise: higher quotes than the other stores, free pickup, and payment within a day or a few days for sellers whose discs pass. In one side-by-side test on Reddit, Dacby accepted a heavily worn disc that GameLoot and GameNation both turned down.
  • The complaints: discs rejected for "scratches" the seller says weren't there, long silences while a rejected disc is on its way back, and, in one 2025 case, a dispute over how many discs arrived.
  • Dacby's side: its official Reddit account has said, more than once, that discs with more than three scratches can't be accepted because they can't be resold, and that rejected discs always go back to the seller. On X it has added that a disc's physical condition matters even when it plays fine. Its website doesn't state a scratch limit at all.
  • It does answer, eventually. Dacby replies publicly on both Reddit and X, which few stores do. Some replies come within a day, others weeks later.
  • Prices move fast. One buyer paid about ₹5,000 for a new game and was offered ₹2,000 to sell it back a week later. Dacby replied that it had since raised the price.

Why so few glowing reviews here?

Because I left most of them out. Many of the positive Dacby posts on Reddit are short, and commenters in those threads call several of them promotional. Two highly upvoted "I finally got my PS5" posts from different accounts tell almost the same story. One poster says Dacby gives store coins for reviews on Instagram, YouTube and Reddit, which Dacby's website doesn't mention. And Dacby runs its own subreddit, full of short positive reviews. None of that proves anything, but it's why I've only shown positive posts I had no particular reason to doubt.

My own sale to Dacby

To be fair to Dacby, it did send the disc back, as its policy says it will. But a rejection costs you more than the disc's trip home. On 3 October, Console Garage was paying ₹4,200 for the same game, and the price of any new release only falls while your disc is in transit. See how fast PS5 games lose resale value.

How to protect yourself when selling to Dacby

  1. Screenshot the quote at the moment you place the order, with the date visible.
  2. Photograph the disc's playing side under a bright light, from a couple of angles.
  3. Film the packing. Dacby asks for a 30 to 60 second packing video, and its Reddit account has said that's the evidence it relies on in disputes.
  4. Ask for photos if Dacby says your disc is scratched. Its own process says it sends photos with any revised offer.
  5. Have a second store in mind. If your disc comes back, check its page here and sell it to whoever pays most next.

My take

Dacby is legit, in the sense that matters for "is this a scam": it's a real company that pays sellers and delivers to buyers.

It's also the store where I'd be most careful as a seller, because the gap between its headline price and what you actually get can be the whole disc. If you sell to Dacby, sell when its price is clearly the best, document everything, and if a disc you know is clean comes back "scratched", sell it somewhere else rather than arguing.

How it compares with the others, disc by disc: Dacby vs GameLoot, Dacby vs GameNation and Dacby vs Console Garage.

Questions people ask

Is Dacby safe to sell to?

It's a real company that pays, and on most discs it pays the most. But many sellers, me included, have had discs rejected for scratches they dispute. Photograph your disc, film the packing and screenshot the quote before you ship.

Is Dacby a registered company?

Yes. Its terms name DACBY Technologies Private Limited, with an office in Noida, Uttar Pradesh.

Was Dacby on Shark Tank India?

Yes, in season 4. It asked for ₹75 lakh for a 2.2% stake and didn't get a deal.

What happens if Dacby rejects my disc?

Dacby says it sends photos and a revised offer, and if you don't accept, returns the item at its own cost. Its Reddit account has said discs with more than three scratches are rejected.

Does Dacby give a warranty on used discs?

No. Its refund page lists discs among products without warranty. You can get a replacement or refund only for a faulty disc reported within 24 hours of delivery, or 2 days according to another of its pages.

Summing up

  • Legit? Yes. A real, funded company with an app and an office.
  • Best price? Often. It made the top cash offer on most discs on 3 October 2026.
  • Biggest risk? A disc rejected for scratches you dispute, which happened to me.
  • Protect yourself: screenshot the quote, photograph the disc, film the packing, and keep a second store in mind.
