Dacby vs GameLoot: which is better for PS5 games?

These two split the job almost perfectly. One pays more for your disc nearly every time. The other usually sells the same disc for less.

8 min readBy DiscScout

Two game discs side by side, one being handed over on an open palm and the other sitting in a shopping basket.

Ask on Reddit whether Dacby or GameLoot is better and you'll get the same answer every time: "GameLoot is good for buying, selling is bad."

That line turns out to be roughly right, and the prices back it up. What it misses is that the two stores are good at opposite halves of the same trade. Use both and you get the best of each.

The two stores, head to head

Selling: what each one pays

Cash

Dacby's lead is wide but shallow. It paid more on 209 discs, GameLoot on 13, and 4 were level. But the typical gap was ₹200, and on the big recent games it was often smaller:

DiscDacby paysGameLoot pays
Black Myth Wukong₹4,400₹4,300
007 First Light₹3,800₹3,800
Ghost of Yotei₹2,900₹2,800
Resident Evil Requiem₹2,800₹2,700
Call of Duty Black Ops 7₹2,400₹2,100
Marvel's Wolverine₹2,000₹2,950
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle₹1,700₹4,500

Look at the last two rows. When GameLoot wins, it can win by ₹950 or even ₹2,800. Indiana Jones on 3 October was ₹1,700 at Dacby and ₹4,500 at GameLoot for the same disc. That's an outlier, but it's exactly why one store's offer is never enough.

So the rule is "Dacby first", not "Dacby always". Open the game's page before you book a pickup.

What each one will buy

This is GameLoot's quiet advantage. On 3 October it was quoting cash for 434 PS5 titles. Dacby was quoting for 266. That's 208 games GameLoot will take that Dacby won't, mostly older and less popular discs. If your shelf is full of 2021 sports games and forgotten shooters, GameLoot may be your only option of the two.

Store credit

Both pay more in credit than in cash, and neither lets you turn credit back into cash.

  • Dacby coins: 1 coin is ₹1. On 3 October, coins were worth a median 12.5% more than Dacby's cash, about ₹200 a disc. They never expire and can be spent on anything Dacby sells.
  • GameLoot credit: a median 16.7% above its cash offer, or ₹100 to ₹250 a disc. Lifetime validity. Spendable on gameloot.in and at its Mumbai store. You can't put cash and credit games in the same sell order.

GameLoot's percentage is higher because its extra is a flat ₹100 to ₹250, which is a bigger share of a cheap disc. Dacby's coins still beat GameLoot's credit on 204 of 226 shared discs, because Dacby starts from more cash.

So which credit is worth more?

The one you can spend. On 3 October GameLoot had 64 PS5 discs in stock and Dacby had 24. If your next game is coming from GameLoot anyway, its credit is the better deal even though Dacby's coins are worth more on paper. I explain the trade-off properly in store credit vs cash.

Both stores' pages contradict themselves on payout times somewhere, so I've given the range. Sellers on Reddit report anywhere from the next day to about a week for both.

Condition rules

Neither store publishes a scratch standard, and this is where most of the angry posts about both come from.

  • Dacby doesn't list fixed deductions. Its official Reddit account has said that discs with more than three scratches can't be accepted. A rejected disc comes back at Dacby's cost, or you can take a revised price, with photos as proof.
  • GameLoot's sell page says it accepts light scratches and rejects heavily scratched discs, and that a missing or broken case costs nothing. Its terms and conditions say something different: discs can only be traded in their original cases, missing items lower the value, and rejected items come back at your expense. Plan for the stricter version.

One Reddit user ran a useful test in May 2026. They sent the same two working PS5 discs, one lightly scratched and one heavily worn, to GameLoot, GameNation and Dacby. GameLoot rejected both. Dacby accepted the worn one. One test isn't a rule, but it matches what I see in a lot of threads: GameLoot is the strictest of the three on scratches.

Before you ship to either, read how to check a used disc before selling.

Buying: who's cheaper

On 3 October only 10 PS5 discs were in stock at both. GameLoot was cheaper on 7, Dacby on 2, and one was level.

The biggest gap was Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced: ₹3,399 at GameLoot against ₹4,199 at Dacby. Dacby's best was Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, ₹2,699 against GameLoot's ₹2,999.

Two things to know about GameLoot's used discs. Its product pages warn that a disc may not come with its original cover art or manual, and some buyers have received discs in plain cases. And the one-working-day window to report a problem is short. Open the parcel on the day it arrives.

What people report

Both stores have a long trail of public complaints and plenty of quiet happy customers. Unhappy sellers post far more than happy ones, so read these as patterns, not rates.

  • GameLoot has a 2.1 out of 5 on Trustpilot from 118 reviews, and most disc-related ones are about rejected trade-ins. On Reddit the consensus is the line I opened with: buying is fine, selling can be frustrating.
  • Dacby gets praise for next-day pickups and quotes that were honoured, and complaints about discs rejected for scratches and slow replies while a disc is on its way back.

The protection is the same for both. Photograph the disc's playing surface in good light, film yourself packing it, and keep the courier receipt.

My take

Use them for different jobs.

Sell to Dacby when it pays more, which on 3 October was 209 times out of 226. Check the game's page first, because GameLoot's occasional wins are large.

Buy from GameLoot when you're buying used. It was cheaper on most shared discs, has nearly three times the stock and ships free.

Sell to GameLoot when Dacby doesn't buy the game at all, or when you're taking credit you'll spend there.

That split is exactly how the cheapest cost to play usually works out: buy at one store, sell to another.

Questions people ask

Does Dacby pay more than GameLoot?

On most discs, yes. On the prices read on 3 October 2026, Dacby offered more cash on 209 of 226 PS5 discs both buy, typically ₹200 more. GameLoot paid more on 13, sometimes by a lot, like ₹2,800 more on Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.

Is GameLoot cheaper than Dacby for used games?

Usually. On the 10 PS5 discs both had in stock on 3 October, GameLoot was cheaper on 7. GameLoot also had 64 PS5 discs in stock against Dacby's 24.

Why did GameLoot reject my disc?

GameLoot says it rejects heavily scratched or non-working discs, and its terms say the testing team's decision is final. It doesn't publish what counts as heavy. Many sellers report rejections for scratches, so photograph your disc before sending it.

Can I sell to GameLoot in person?

GameLoot has one store, in Andheri West, Mumbai. Its pages don't say whether that store buys discs over the counter, so call ahead. Everywhere else it's pickup or post.

Do Dacby coins or GameLoot credit expire?

Neither expires, and neither can be converted to cash.

Summing up

  • Selling a recent game? Dacby, after checking the game's page for GameLoot's exceptions.
  • Selling an older game? GameLoot buys 208 PS5 titles Dacby doesn't.
  • Buying used? GameLoot, on price and on stock.
  • Worried about rejections? Dacby was the more forgiving of the two in the one side-by-side test I found.
