Is GameLoot legit? Real reviews of buying and selling
GameLoot is a real Mumbai store that's been selling used games for about ten years. Whether it's a good experience depends almost entirely on which side of the counter you're on.

Search "is GameLoot legit" and you'll find two kinds of posts. Buyers who got a used console or disc in a few days and were happy. Sellers who sent a disc they swear was perfect and got it back marked "scratched".
Both are telling the truth about their own experience. So the useful question isn't "is GameLoot a scam". It's "what's likely to happen to me, buying or selling?" I went through about thirty Reddit threads from 2025 and 2026, GameLoot's own terms, and the prices we read from it every day. I also searched X, but couldn't find a post about buying or selling with GameLoot that I could open and verify.
Is GameLoot a real company?
Yes. Here's what's on the public record:
- A registered business. Its terms describe GameLoot as a partnership firm based in Mumbai, and its GST registration has been active since July 2017.
- Founders on its own site. GameLoot's About page names Yogesh Advani and Syed Mehdi as founders, both with backgrounds in the games industry.
- Around since 2016. The gameloot.in domain was registered in January 2016.
- A real shop. Its store locator lists one store, in Om Heera Panna Mall, Oshiwara, Andheri West, Mumbai.
It's also big. On 3 October 2026, GameLoot was buying back 434 PS5 titles, more than any of the other three stores we track, and had 64 used PS5 discs in stock.
Buying from GameLoot: what people say
Buyers on Reddit are mostly positive. The common line in these threads is that GameLoot is good for buying. Consoles in particular tend to arrive quickly and in good shape.

I did it and It worked.
A buyer says a pre-owned Xbox Series S arrived in about four days, well packed, looking almost unused and working fully. Several replies describe similar trouble-free purchases.

A buyer says a ₹28,000 pre-owned Series S arrived in three or four days in clean condition, and that customer care fixed a wrong address quickly.

Can I trust gameloot for pre-owned ps5 disc
Asked whether pre-owned discs from GameLoot are safe, most replies say the discs and packing are fine and delivery takes three to four days. One reports a broken case and no reply to emails or calls.

Dear Gameloot, stop this shady practice!
A buyer says all four pre-owned discs arrived in broken cases. In a later comment, they say a GameLoot staff member agreed to replace all four cases after seeing photos.

Received case without game image from gameloot
A buyer received a Horizon Zero Dawn disc in a plain case with no cover art. Some replies say it never happened to them across many orders, others call it common.

The buying complaints are smaller and more specific:
- Missing cover art or broken cases. This comes up again and again. GameLoot's own product pages warn that a pre-owned disc may not come with its original artwork or manual, so it's in the terms, even if it's annoying.
- Short return window. GameLoot's terms say you must report a damaged, faulty or wrong item within one working day of delivery. Open the parcel on the day it arrives.
- Hard-to-reach support. Several buyers say calls go unanswered and emails are slow.
On price, GameLoot is hard to beat. On 3 October 2026, among PS5 discs that two or more stores had in stock, it was the cheapest on 31 of 42. You can compare it with the others in Dacby vs GameLoot and GameLoot vs GameNation.
Selling to GameLoot: what people say
This is the side that earns GameLoot its bad reviews. On Trustpilot it had a 2.1 out of 5 from 118 reviews when I checked, most of the disc-related ones from sellers, and no replies from GameLoot.

Why gameloot returned the game I sold?
A seller says a disc with no visible scratches and a good case came back from GameLoot. Many commenters report the same, and some guess GameLoot returns games it already has plenty of.

Sent scratchless disc to Gameloot and they’re sending back a scratched disc
A seller says GameLoot called to say their Last of Us Part I disc was in bad condition and would be sent back, while their own video from before posting shows it spotless.

Tested Gameloot, Gamenation, Dacby- for anyone considering buying a used console/games.
Someone sent the same two working discs, one lightly and one heavily worn, to three stores. GameLoot rejected both and paid to send them back. The poster says that strictness makes them happier to buy from GameLoot than to sell to it.

My Review of Gameloot
A seller says an Elden Ring disc they believe was flawless came back as scratched. The replies split: plenty of people report smooth buying and selling, others report rejections, and many say phone support is hard to reach.

Gameloot stole my game. YES 'STOLE' my game
A seller says GameLoot had their disc for over a week without paying or answering email. Commenters point out the poster's own screenshot shows it was delivered that day, and that testing takes a few days.

The pattern is consistent:
- Rejections for scratches. Sellers send discs they believe are clean, and GameLoot returns them as scratched. Some say the disc came back with marks it didn't have. Others say it came back exactly as they sent it.
- Strictest of the stores. In the one side-by-side test I found, GameLoot rejected both discs, including one that GameNation accepted.
- Not every complaint holds up. In the "stole my game" thread, commenters pointed out the poster's own screenshot showed the disc had only just been delivered. Read the replies, not just the headline.
So is GameLoot rejecting good discs on purpose?
I can't tell you that, and neither can anyone posting on Reddit. Some commenters guess it rejects titles it already holds too many of, which GameLoot has never said. What I can say is that GameLoot's own pages contradict each other on what it accepts: its sell page says light scratches are fine and a missing case costs nothing, while its terms say discs can only be traded in their original cases and that rejected items go back at the seller's expense. A store that's clear about its rules would get fewer of these threads.
How to protect yourself
If you're buying:
- Check the listing for cover art. If it matters to you, ask before you order.
- Open it the day it arrives and report any problem within one working day, with photos.
- Film the unboxing of anything expensive.
If you're selling:
- Photograph the disc's playing side under a bright light before you pack it.
- Film the packing, with the disc visible, and keep the courier receipt.
- Check the price elsewhere first. GameLoot often isn't the best payer. On 3 October 2026, Dacby offered more cash on 209 of the 226 discs both buy.
- If it comes back, sell it elsewhere. A disc GameLoot rejects is often accepted somewhere else.
My guide on checking a disc before you sell it covers what each store accepts.
My take
GameLoot is legit. It's a real Mumbai business with a shop, a decade of trading and the biggest buy-back list of the four stores we track.
For buying, I'd use it without hesitation. It's usually the cheapest, ships free, and the complaints are about cases and cover art, not missing discs.
For selling, I'd use it with care, and usually only when it's paying the most for that particular disc. When it isn't, there's no reason to take on its strict checks.
Questions people ask
Is GameLoot safe to buy from?
Mostly, yes. Buyers on Reddit generally report discs and consoles arriving in a few days and working. The common complaints are missing cover art and broken cases, and GameLoot asks you to report problems within one working day of delivery.
Is GameLoot safe to sell to?
It's a real business that pays, but it's strict about disc condition, and many sellers report rejections they disagree with. Photograph your disc and film the packing before you send it.
Does GameLoot have a physical store?
Yes, one, in Om Heera Panna Mall, Oshiwara, Andheri West, Mumbai.
Why did GameLoot reject my disc?
GameLoot says it rejects heavily scratched or non-working discs, and that its testing team's decision is final. It doesn't publish what counts as heavy. Many sellers say discs they thought were fine were rejected.
Is GameLoot cheaper than other stores?
Often. On 3 October 2026, it was the cheapest of the four stores we track on 31 of the 42 PS5 discs that two or more of them had in stock.
Summing up
- Legit? Yes. A real, registered Mumbai business with a shop.
- Buying? A good choice, often the cheapest. Report problems within a working day.
- Selling? Strict and sometimes disputed. Document your disc and check who pays most.
- Read every thread to the end. The replies often tell a different story from the title.
